TCGplayer has announced a new partnership with Wizards of the Coast.

Under this new agreement, TCGplayer will be able to display a WPN badge next to the names of verified retail stores on their marketplace. The badge indicates that the seller is an official WPN local game stores. This pilot program starts in spring 2025.

"Local game stores are the cornerstone of Magic: The Gathering player and fan communities,” stated Lindsay Smith, Director of Global WPN at Wizards of the Coast. “Partnering with TCGplayer allows us to give these retailers powerful new tools to grow their customer base outside their four walls, build stronger communities, and thrive in an evolving marketplace."

The new feature is another step in redefining what it means to be a FLGS within the WPN network. The badge is meant to give FLGS a bit of an edge on the platform by inspiring buyer confidence that they are buying from a verified retailer with an actual business as opposed to a vest pocket seller or someone selling singles cards as a side hustle.
