Stonemaier Games revealed their new edition of Tokaido, which will be available for order on April 2, 2025.
Stonemaier Games acquired the rights to the Tokaido brand and games from FunForge back in October 2024 (see "Stonemaier Games Acquires 'Tokaido'"). The new edition of the classic game will feature the same art and gameplay, and will be compatible with previously released expansions. The most significant change to the game is that this edition will have a solo mode, which can also be purchased separately as an expansion for players that already own Tokaido. They also changed outdated gender nomenclature in the rulebook as well as updated text on the cards to include icons in order to make the game more accessible.
This game is for one to five players and plays in 45 to 60 minutes.
