Kodansha Comics will publish a new edition of Hitoshi Iwaaki’s Parasyte, the body-horror sci-fi manga series that has spawned both anime and multiple live-action films. The new edition will be in black and white but will feature the new translation and lettering that was used for the hardcover color edition published in 2022 (see "Kodansha to Publish Full-Color Parasyte"), as well as restored interior art. It will also have the larger 6” x 8.4” trim size used for the color edition and new cover designs. The series will be complete in eight volumes. The new edition will launch in Fall 2025.
Parasyte is an enduring favorite, first published in 12 volumes by Tokyopop in the early 2000s and then republished in an eight-volume edition by Del Rey and then Kodansha. It has been adapted into multiple anime and live-action films, most recently Parasyte: The Grey, released on Netflix in April 2024 (see "‘Parasyte’ Live-Action").
