Wizards of the Coast has announced that every order from Secret Lair: The Ultimate Pencil Superdrop, its next Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair drop, will include the first Secret Lair pencil. The Ultimate Pencil Superdrop will go on sale on May 12, 2025 at 9 a.m. PT.
The sets are an eclectic mix, with themes tied to legendary Seattle radio station KEXP, fire, speed, and artist Jay Howell.
The following sets will be offered:
Secret Lair x KEXP: You Are Not Alone (MSRP $29.99; Rainbow Foil $39.99): "You are not alone" was a tagline repeated by DJs between songs on the station, and the set features five "group-hug" cards that will bring people together. Cards include "Cultural Exchange," "Folio of Fancies," "Concordant Crossroads," "Rites of Flourishing," and "Font of Mythos." Art is by Bráulio Amado, Jesse LeDoux, Max Loeffler, Bene Rohlmann, and Jay Ryan.
Secret Lair x KEXP: Where the Music Matters (MSRP $29.99; Rainbow Foil $39.99): This set features two each of lands that celebrate the places where music lives and matters. Cards include Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, and Forest. Art is by Dan Black and Jessica Seamans.
Secret Lair Featuring: Jay Howell (MSRP $29.99; Rainbow Foil $39.99): Jay Howell is a Los Angeles-based illustrator with fandom across animation and illustration, and the cards featuring his art are the start of a nice Marchesa Commander deck. Cards include "Agent of Treachery," "Priest of Forgotten Gods," "Treasonous Ogre," "Uncivil Unrest," and "Marchesa, the Black Rose."
Secret Lair: Everything Is on Fire (MSRP $29.99, Rainbow Foil $39.99, Raised Foil $99.99): The theme for this set was simple, "Fire Hot," and artists Deb JJ Lee, Molly Mendoza, Yuko Shimizu, Adam Volker, and K Wroten took off from there. Cards include "Chain Lightning,” "Dragon’s Rage Channeler," "Lava Spike," "Rift Bolt," and "Skewer the Critics."
Secret Lair: Vroooooommmmmm! (MSRP $29.99, Rainbow Foil $39.99, Raised Foil $99.99): This set depicts aggressive speed and features the art of Japanese illustrator Toru Terada. Cards include "Lava Dart," "Monastery Swiftspear," "Soul-Scar Mage," "Underworld Breach," and "Mishra’s Bauble."
