Writer James Tynion IV and artist DANI will be the creative team for Skybound’s next Universal Monsters miniseries, Universal Monsters: The Invisible Man. The four-issue miniseries is a new retelling of the origin story of the character, Jack Griffin, who dreams of being invisible and then finds it intolerable when he gets his wish. Image Comics will release the first issue on August 27, 2025, with a main cover by DANI and colorist Brad Simpson, a variant by Joshua Middleton, a 1:10 “Pulp” variant by David Aja, a 1:25 “Classic Horror” variant by Middleton, a 1:50 variant by Rosemary Valero-O’Connell, a 1:75 pencil sketch cover by Alex Ross, and a 1:100 foil cover by Christian Ward.
"Going back to the first conversation I had with Skybound about the Universal Monsters line, there were two characters I knew I wanted to work on from the start," Tynion said in a statement accompanying the announcement. "We started with Dracula, but in my heart my favorite Universal Monster film has always been The Invisible Man."
Tynion IV wrote the first Universal Monsters miniseries, Universal Monsters: Dracula, which launched in 2023 (see “Skybound Kicks Off ‘Universal Monsters’ License with Dracula Miniseries”).
