IDW is adding a new limited series to its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Casey Jones, by writer Alex Paknadel, artist Amancay Nahuelpan, and colorist Luis Antonio Delgado. Casey Jones, who joined the series in 1985, is a masked vigilante whose personal arsenal includes hockey sticks, baseball bats, and other sports equipment. After being shot in IDW’s ongoing TMNT series, Jones is back in this six-issue limited series with a new lease on life and a new mission as well. “We’re going to be taking Casey back to his roots and confronting him with a terrifying, unstoppable villain who preys on the city’s most vulnerable mutants,” Paknadel said in a statement accompanying the announcement. The first issue will be released on September 10, 2025, with a main cover by Nahuelpan and a variant by Danny Earls, a 1:25 black and white variant of the Earls cover, and a 1:50 variant by Mike Henderson.

"Casey Jones is one of the best characters in the TMNT universe,” said editor Dave Wielgosz. “He's loyal, brave, pure of heart, and as we're going to see in this mini-series… more than a little reckless. Alex and Amancay are going to highlight all the attributes that have made Casey an enduring part of any incarnation of the TMNT he’s been a part of and put him through a challenge the likes of which he's never been through before. If you love street-level vigilante stories and the world of the TMNT, you're going to love our book."

The first issue of IDW’s relaunched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series had initial orders of over 300,000 copies (see “‘TMNT’ #1 Orders Pass 300,000 Copies”).
