Eli Roth's The Horror Section and John Parker's Patencio Development will partner to develop a licensing strategy and retail presence for products tied to the new studio's productions, including innovative marketing strategies, retail programs, and immersive fan experiences, the companies announced.

The Horror Section was founded by Roth, who created horror films Hostel, Cabin Fever, The Green Inferno, and Thanksgiving, in partnership with Media Capital Technologies, and is active in film, television, gaming, podcasts, and live events.

The Horror Section is currently raising money on the equity crowdfunding platform Republic; with 32 days left in the campaign, the company has raised $3.076,844 out of a possible $5 million maximum.  The goal is to build an independent studio to produce "unrated, hardcore, uncut horror films."  Roth's next film is Ice Cream Man, slated for 2026.

Parker formed Patencio Development in 2018, after holding executive positions at Bluefin Distribution, Diamond Comic Distributors, and Tokyopop.

"The horror community loves collecting, and Patencio truly understands the deep connection between the fans and the films," Horror Section Founder and Chief Creative Officer Roth said of the new partnership.  "I have spent the last two years on the convention circuit and met the most incredible artists, and The Horror Section can now channel all that creativity into a powerhouse merchandising partnership with the best of the best."

"Partnering with The Horror Section is an incredible opportunity to amplify Eli Roth's visionary approach to horror," Patencio Development CEO Parker said in a statement accompanying the announcement.  "Our team is dedicated to delivering products and experiences that ignite the passion of horror fans worldwide."
