UDON Entertainment and sister company Manga Classics have stopped shipping product to Diamond Comic Distributors and have advised retailers that they should consider outstanding orders via Diamond cancelled, whether for existing titles or those solicited for release in May through August.  UDON and Manga Classics titles continue to be available to the direct market via Lunar Distribution in the U.S. and Universal Distribution in Canada, as well as to the book channel via Simon & Schuster (see “UDON Switches Book Distributor”).

“With the current state of uncertainty and lack of communication from the new owners to both retailers as well as many publishers, we have to do what is best to serve our customers,” UDON Chief of Operations Erik Ko said in a statement accompanying the announcement.  “We realize this is a deep inconvenience for many retailers, but we’re trying to do our best to serve our partners and fans, while minimizing risk and moving forward in an uncertain time.”

About 20% of UDON’s initial orders on the upcoming Mega Man Timelines #1 came through Diamond accounts, and to cover orders from retailers switching to Lunar, UDON will produce a 25% overprint on direct market editions of that issue.  The release date has also been changed to June 25, 2025.

UDON publishes an eclectic array of comics, manga, and art books based on Street Fighter, Persona, and other games, as well as other manga, including the classic Rose of Versailles (see “UDON Sets Release for ‘Rose of Versailles’ Manga”).
