This expansion was first printed back in 2007 and came to the U.S. markets via Mayfair Games (see "'Catan: Traders and Barbarians'"). It came with a full campaign of five new scenarios revolving around the people of the island planning to expand their civilization beyond the river into unknown territory populated by barbarians. The expansion offers players new options for their games of CATAN, including river crossings, merchant caravans, and barbarian battles, and the expansion is updated to be used with the CATAN 6E base game.
Traders & Barbarians, when combined with the CATAN 6E base game, accommodates three to four players, ages 12 and up. It will retail for $59.99.
