DC has unveiled its newest Absolute Universe event, Absolute Evil, which will run through the month of October with two one-shots and issues of five ongoing series. They also announced that the best-selling Absolute Martian Manhunter will return in December.

Two oversized one-shots will bookend the Absolute Evil event:

Absolute Evil #1, by writer Al Ewing and artist Giuseppe Camuncoli and Stefano Nesi, brings together Ra’s al Ghul, Veronica Cale, Hector Hammond, Elenore Thawne, and the Joker, who have agreed to join forces, although a betrayal from within threatens the alliance. This issue will introduce two major Absolute characters who will play a major part in the next year’s storyline. Absolute Evil #1 will be released on October 1, 2025, with a main cover by Camuncoli and Nesi and variants by Fabrizio De Tommaso, Gerald Parel, Dustin Nguyen, and Riley Rossmo, plus a foil variant by Rossmo.

Absolute Batman 2025 Annual #1 will include stories by Daniel Warren Johnson, James Harren, and Meredith McClaren that will explore how Bruce got the Batmobile and the early conflict between Black Mask’s crew and the Bat. The one-shot will be released on October 29 with a main cover by Johnson and variants by Nick Dragotta and Harren and a 1:25 variant by Meredith McClaren.

The event will also run across five issues of Absolute series throughout the month of October. Absolute Batman #13, by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta, will feature Batman’s last face-off with Bane and will introduce both Absolute Catwoman and another new character. It will go on sale on October 8, with a main cover by Dragotta and variants by Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, Jenny Frison, Adam Hughes, and Brian Bolland, plus a foil “Artgerm” variant and incentive variants by David Nakayama (1:25) and Dragotta (1:50).

The other four issues involved in the event are Absolute Wonder Woman #13 (on sale October 22), Absolute Superman #12 (October 1), Absolute Flash #8 (October 15), and Absolute Green Lantern #7 (October 1)

DC also announced that Absolute Martian Manhunter, which had been on hiatus, will return in December 2025 with issue #7 for a new six-issue arc. The first issue was one of the best sellers of Spring 2025 (see “Top Dollar Comics”).
