Inkworks Trading Cards has acquired the license to produce trading cards based on the critically acclaimed and multi-award winning HBO TV series, The Sopranos.  Created by David Chase, who cut his TV-writing eyeteeth on the Rockford Files back in the 1970s, The Sopranos won four Emmys last September including the coveted 'Best Drama Series.'  The Sopranos is clearly the most dominant and definitive mobster saga since The Godfather trilogy and the show has managed the seemingly impossible task of getting top tier broadcast-like ratings with a slot on pay cable.  The license makes sense for Inkworks since the company has an excellent track record marketing trading cards based on TV series such as The X-Files, Alias, Angel and Buffy The Vampire Slayer that have a strong 'cult-like' appeal to teen and older audiences.

Inkworks' The Sopranos Season One Premium Trading Cards, which are scheduled for a June release, will include character cards and complete coverage of all Season One episodes.  The set will also include several levels of randomly inserted bonus cards including autographs. Look for more details as they become available.
