The family-friendly get-together marks the first time that artists like ISSAKA GALADIMA (France, artist of mega-hit CLOCK STRIKER, featuring shonen manga’s first black female lead hero), FRED TORNAGER (Denmark, award-winning artist of GUNHILD), and OSCAR FONG (New Zealand, artist of MMWOG) have all appeared together in America for their fans.
SATURDAYCON is a joint experience between Saturday AM and NC COMICON, the boutique Durham, North Carolina, comics show, which is also celebrating its 10th anniversary, while ULTIMATE COMICS, the originator of NC COMICON and the popular North Carolina comic book store chain, celebrates its 20th anniversary.
The event will feature a collection of creators representing the past, present, and future of comics, including the iconic Art Adams, comics publisher BAD IDEA, and new artistic voices like Alyssa Wong and Stephanie Williams. Attendees will also have a chance to participate in contests, win prizes, and get early access to APPLE BLACK, VOL. 4 by Nigerian star artist and YouTuber Whyt Manga!

- Under their Rockport Publishers imprint, Quarto Group is launching four additional print manga releases for Q4 in 2023: the aforementioned APPLE BLACK, VOL. 4 as well as SOUL BEAT, VOL. 1; SATURDAY AM ANNUAL 2024; and HAMMER, VOL. 4 by Rick and Morty manga artist JeyOdin.
- New Saturday AM-inspired retail apparel products by BIOWORLD and ATSUKO.
- TWO INTERNATIONAL CLOCK STRIKER SHOWCASES: in PARIS at the AFRICA CREATION FORUM at the Gaîté Lyrique, October 6 to October 8, 2023; and in JAPAN at KYOTO INTERNATIONAL MANGA MUSEUM from October 26, 2023 to February 18, 2024.
- Saturday AM's Whyt Manga appearing in Dubai for the STOMP THE YARD comics festival.
- Coming in 2024: the first DIVERSE LIGHT NOVEL by Saturday AM featuring characters from APPLE BLACK; and a nationwide Black History Month promotion for CLOCK STRIKER.
