Sponsored. Return to the magical world of Middle-earth in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers™ Trick-Taking Game. This 17-chapter, narrative driven, cooperative card game, for 1-4 players, lets them take on the roles of heroes and villains in Tolkien's legendary work, The Two Towers™. A standalone follow-up to last year’s incredible The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring™ Trick-Taking Game, new mechanics, new characters, and beautiful stained-glass art make this an unforgettable experience.
Designed by Bryan Bornmueller, a true Tolkien fanatic, he expertly weaves the story into the gameplay in new fun and thematic ways. The Two Towers Trick-Taking Game picks up where Fellowship of the Ring Trick-Taking Game left off! As the part splits upgoing three different directions, you'll be taken through seventeen new chapters following the paths of Merry and Pippin’s capture, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli's legendary battle at Helm's Deep, and join Sam, Frodo, and Gollum as they trek to Mordor. We recommend following the story in chapter order to get the full narrative experience, but if you want to skip to your favorite scene, that's doable as well! The big story moments you'll encounter are presented using text straight from the novel and really help set the scene as you start each chapter!
This game doesn't just have incredibly unique gameplay; it is also completely gorgeous! Elaine Ryan takes us back into her version of Middle-earth with whimsical stained-glass art straight from a fairytale! Every character from the first game receives new art as well as every suit receiving a new interpretation based on where scenes from the second novel take place. This game is sure to stun everyone who sees it on the table!
Last year's The Fellowship of the Ring Trick-Taking Game was given the Dice Tower seal of Excellence, won the Golden Geek for Best Cooperative Game, won the UK Games Expo Judge’s Choice Best Card Game, and received nominations for many others! Many board game influencers had it in their top games of the years list, including The Brother’s Murph, The Dice Tower, and Foster the Meeple. The Two Towers Trick-Taking Game is sure to follow in the footsteps of this prestigious game.
When you get your copy of The Two Towers Trick-Taking Game from your favorite local game store, you'll also receive the supplemental chapter Horses and Haradrim! As an extra chapter, it is truly added content and not needed to enjoy the base game at all. We love seeing local game stores thrive and want you to visit them as much as possible, find participating stores at https://www.hobbynext.com/game-stores/.
PAX Unplugged attendees will be the first to go home with a copy of The Two Towers Trick-Taking Game, including a copy of Horses and Haradrim supplemental promotion!
