Marvel is pumping out Thor collections ahead of the release of Thor: Ragnarok in theaters.
The Thor Ragnarok Prelude fills the gap between Thor: The Dark World and the latest entry in the Thor cinematic universe, setting the stage for major players Thor, Odin, Loki, and the Hulk. The trade paperback collects Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok Prelude #1-4, Thor (1966) #361, and Incredible Hulk (2000) #95 and will be out October 4 for an MSRP of $15.99.Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok -- The Art of the Movie gives fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Mighty Thor’s new film. Written by Eleni Roussos, the 240-page deluxe slipcased hardcover volume goes on sale November 1 for an MSRP of $50.00.
Thor Vs. Hulk collects the greatest clashes between the God of Thunder and the Green Goliath. Featuring work from some of the most celebrated creators in comics history, including Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Roy Thomas, Sal Buscema, and many more, the 336-page volume collects Avengers (1963) #3, Sub-Mariner (1968) #35, Defenders (1972) #10, Incredible Hulk (1968) #255 and #440, Thor (1966) #385 and #489, Hulk (2008) #5-6, What If? (1977) #45, and material from Journey Into Mystery (1952) #112, Incredible Hulk Annual 2001, and Hulk (2008) #26. Thor Vs. Hulk hits shelves on October 4 for an MSRP of $29.99. Thor by Walter Simonson collects the first part of the artist’s definitive run on the character. The 232-page trade paperback compiles Thor (1966) #337-345 and will be in stores October 11. MSRP is $24.99.Thor: Gods & Deviants focuses on writer Rob Rodi’s take on the Mighty Avenger as he takes over rule of Asgard and faces down Ragnarok and Ego, the Living Planet. Featuring artwork from Esad Ribic, Simone Bianchi, Mike Choi, and Stephen Segovia, the 480-page volume collects Loki (2004) #1-4, Thor: For Asgard #1-6, Astonishing Thor #1-5, and Thor: The Deviants Saga #1-5. The trade paperback will be in stores October 18 for an MSRP of $34.99.
The third volume of the Thor Epic Collection series, Thor Epic Collection: The Wrath of Odin, collects issues #131-153, as well as Thor Annual #2, of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s classic run on the character. The 512-page trade paperback will be on sale September 27 for an MSRP of $39.99.
Thor: Ragnaroks collects three Asgardian epics in a single volume: Michael Avon Oeming and Scott Kollins’ Thor: Blood Oath; Oeming and Andrea Di Vito’s Thor (1998) #80-85; and Oeming, Dan Berman, and Di Vito’s Stormbreaker: The Saga Of Beta Ray Bill. The 448-page trade paperback will be on sale October 18 for an MSRP of $34.99.In addition to the comics collections, Thor is also hammering his way into HeroClix, with three August releases (see “'The Mighty Thor' Hammers His Way Into 'Marvel HeroClix'”) and an October set tied to the film (see “'Marvel HeroClix: Thor: Ragnarok'”).
