River Horse Games is teaming up with Lynnvander Studios to produce a new board game based on the Terminator Genisys film under a new license from Skydance, License Global reported. The new game, titled Terminator Genisys: Rise of the Resistance will be the focus of a Kickstarter campaign launching next week.
The company has released few details about the game, but has stated that it will include a a lot of miniatures. The game will be mission-driven and will play out on a board made from interlocking tiles.
Rise of the Resistance will be a completely separate game from the Terminator Genisys: The Miniatures Game, which River Horse produced in partnership with Warlord Games in 2015 (see "'Terminator Genisys: The Miniatures Game'"). This time the company is working with the design team at Lynnvander Studios, which has created something of a specialty in licensed games, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Board Game produced by Jasco Games (see "'Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Board Game' Goes Through Four Quick Printings") and Dynamite Entertainment’s ReAnimator: The Board Game (see "Lovecraft's 'Reanimator' Gets His Own Board Game").
River Horse is currently wrapping up a highly successful Kickstarter campaign for its new Pacific Rim: Extinction board game, based on the recent film (see "River Horse Reveals ‘Pacific Rim’ Minis Game").
