Lion Forge has added a new imprint focused on comics and graphic novels for middle grades readers. The Caracal imprint will specialize in reading material for ages 8-12 and will fill the gap between Lion Forge’s early readers CubHouse imprint and the young adult Roar imprint (see “Lion Forge Announces Two New Comic Book Imprints”).

The Caracal line will feature books centered on preteen characters across various genres. Glint by Sam Sattin and Ian McGinty (see “Lion Forge Expands Cubhouse Imprint”), Sheets by Brenna Thummler  (see “Exclusive Preview: 'Sheets' GN by Brenna Thummler”), The Wormworld Saga by Daniel Lieske (see “Preview: 'The Wormworld Saga Vol. 1: The Journey Begins' TP”), and Encounter by Chris Giarrusso, Art Baltazar, and Franco will be released under Caracal.

Some titles from CubHouse will be moved to Caracal in their second printings. The CubHouse imprint will focus more on picture books, hybrid or transitional graphic books, and early comic books.

With the improved differentiation among the various lines, Lion Forge is also developing tools and support for educators, recently hiring Jill Gerber as Director of Education Outreach and Collections (see “Lion Forge Hires Director of Education Outreach and Collections”).
