Ahead of San Diego Comic-Con, Dark Horse has announced a new release from G. Willow Wilson (Ms. Marvel, Wonder Woman) and Christian Ward (Black Bolt, ODY-C) under the Berger Books banner.

Invisible Kingdom is a multi-part tale set in another galaxy and centered on two women, one a religious acolyte and the other a hardnosed freighter pilot, who uncover a conspiracy between the leader of their solar system’s dominant religion and the system’s top mega-corporation. The first issue is in stores on March 20, 2019.

Wilson was recently named the writer for DC’s Wonder Woman ongoing (see “G. Willow Wilson Takes Over 'Wonder Woman'”). The project reteams Wilson with her one-time mentor, Berger, who published some of Wilson’s earliest work at Vertigo. Ward’s work has ventured into lushly illustrated psychedelic sci-fi, with his Eisner-nominated (see “The 2018 Eisner Award Nominees”) run on Black Bolt set in a deep space prison, and ODY-C, a space opera-style retelling of Homer’s Odyssey (see “Image Announces Major Projects at Expo”).
