The question of what happens after the superheroes and the supervillains face off is answered in this game about the clean-up crews that sift through the rubbish to retrieve everything of value. As the leaders of these crews, the players sort through a pile of “rubble cards”, hoping to reveal valuable and useful artifacts like Doc Ock’s tentacles, Ultron’s drones, or Terrigen crystals.
As these items are discovered, a player can decide to add them to their deck, allowing them to use those items in the future to help them acquire even more stuff. Alternatively, cards can be placed in the “vault” to score points. The trick is knowing when to store the items, as only things in the vault are worth points at the end of the game.As the players sift through the rubble, they can recruit aid from popular Marvel superheroes like Captain America, Shang-Chi, and Black Widow. They must also deal with rival claimants to the goods they are recovering and the occasional bystander hoping to glimpse their favorite hero. The game includes four separate modules inspired by Marvel stories that can be mixed together to create different playing experiences.
Marvel: Damage Control was created by Omari Akil (Rap Godz) and features artwork by Darren Calvert (Overboss: A Boss Monster Adventure). It comes with 136 cards, 12 boundary tiles, 4 vault tiles, 4 player boards, and more than 50 tokens. The game is intended for 2 to 4 players, ages 12 and up, and plays in about half an hour. MSRP is $34.99.Click Gallery below to see cards from the game.
