The holiday season is upon us, and the Hollywood news is rolling in. Time for a round-up!
Deadline. Yann Demange will replace Bassam Tariq as director, and Michael Starrbury will write a new script for the movie. Tariq left the film due to continued shifts in the movie's production schedule, but will stay on the film as an executive producer (see "'Blade' Loses Director").
The Hollywood Reporter. The opening sequence will be set in 1944, shortly after the events of Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Lucasfilm plans to use de-aging technology to depict Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones in his prime, fighting Nazis. This sequence will likely employ a number of wide-angle shots involving body doubles for action sequences combined with old footage of Ford, which will be CGI-fitted for shots of his face. A similar "de-aging" sequence was shot for that last episode of The Mandalorian S2 (see "'The Mandalorian' Trailer S2"), where CGI was used to depict a young Luke Skywalker dismantling a brigade of Dark Troopers.
'Doctor Who' Announced"). Gatwa will take over after three specials in late 2023 starring Tenth Doctor David Tennant (see "Doctor Who to Disney+").
Variety. Ademu-John is also the creator and writer of this series, and will remain on as an executive producer. This is the second showrunner to leave this series since it entered development (see "Showrunner Off 'Dune: Sisterhood'").
