The first issue of The Ambassadors, by writer Mark Millar and artist Frank Quitely, has sold out at the distributor level, and Image will reprint it as a “Special Edition,” with some additional pages and a cover price of $4.99, as opposed to $3.99 for the first printing. The new edition will be released on April 26. The extra pages are backmatter that show Quitely’s creative process in bringing Millar’s script to the page. This issue marks Quitely’s first comic in six years.

The Ambassadors is a six-issue miniseries, with each issue drawn by a different artist (see “Millar Teams Up with Quitely, Coipel, and More for ‘The Ambassadors’”), that will lead into a summer event, dubbed “Big Game,” a massive crossover of Millar’s characters from Kick-Ass, Kingsman, and other series, with art by Pepe Larraz. Image is also publishing Millar’s Night Club (see “Vampires Become Superheroes in New Mark Millar Series”), Nemesis: Reloaded, and a fourth arc of The Magic Order, this one with artist Dike Ruan. All of these will also lead in to the summer event.

Millar sold his creator-owned Millarworld portfolio of comics to Netflix in 2017 (see “Mark Millar’s ‘Millarworld’ Acquired by Netflix”)
