The webtoon platform Tapas has struck a deal with Aethon Books to adapt Aethon’s LitRPG novels into webtoons.  The first adaptation will be An Outcast in Another World by KamikazePotato, which will launch on Tapas later in 2024.  Webtoon struck a similar deal with Aethon in January (see “Webtoon Inks Deal with Ebook Publisher Aethon”), and Vault Comics is working with them as well (see “Vault Partners with Ebook Publisher”).

Tapas has also hired Jacq Cohen as their new Director of PR & Marketing, responsible for expanding awareness of the webtoons and webnovels on the platform.  Cohen is a comics veteran who started her career as a Publicist for Top Shelf Productions in 2006, then moved to Dark Horse Comics in 2007, and has been at Fantagraphics Books since 2009 as Executive Director of Communications & Publicity.
