DC Comics has announced its lineup of Fall 2025 graphic novels for young readers, and it includes the first early-readers title in this line, as well as the return of some favorite characters and stories and a supernatural-themed box set.

Superman’s Good Guy Gang, by Rob Justus, is a buddy comedy, with nine-year-old Clark Kent forming a superhero club with fellow super-kids Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl and Guy Gardner/Green Lantern.  The book is slated for release on July 1, 2025, just ahead of the premiere of the movie Superman: Legacy (see “‘Superman’ Is in the Can”), with an MSRP of $12.99.  This is the first graphic novel for readers aged 5-7 in DC’s young-readers line, but there’s more to come: DC says the Good Guy Gang will expand in the future with the addition of Mr. Terrific, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Justus is the creator of the middle-grade Death & Sparkles graphic novels.

Kid Flash: Going Rogue, by Steve Foxe and Jerry Gaylord, starts with The Flash taking Kid Flash and fellow teenagers Golden Glider, Pied Piper, Trickster, and The Top too a pocket dimension for some tough love, but when The Flash has to tend to some Justice League matters, Kid Flash gets a lesson in true heroics.  Foxe is the writer of Scholastic’s Spider-Ham graphic novels, as well as the Editor at Tiny Onion (see “James Tynion IV’s Tiny Onion Is Getting Bigger”); Gaylord is an animator and the artist for another DC middle-grade title, Clark and Lex. Kid Flash: Going Rogue is rated for ages 8-12 and will be released on September 2, 2025, with an MSRP of $12.99.

Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade, by Landry Q. Walker and the late Eric Jones, marks the return of this story, which started as a six-issue comic series in 2008-2009, was late collected as a trade, and was reissued in 2016.  The book brings Linda Lee/Kara Zor-El back down to earth as she negotiates middle school, deals with a new antagonist, and rides a flying horse.  Walker and Jones, who died in 2022, also collaborated on the First Second title Pepper Page Saves the Universe (see “First Second Winter-Spring 2021 Catalog”).  This newest incarnation of Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade, rated for ages 8-12, will be released on August 5, 2025, with an MSRP of $12.99.

Birds of Prey: The Origins, by Sara Shepard & Stephanie Pepper, follows Helena Bertinelli, Barbara Gordon, Dinah Lance, and Harleen Quinzel as they begin the school year at Gotham Prep. Each of the quartet has her own secrets and emotional baggage, but a mysterious series of accidents forces the quartet to work together to figure out who is causing the mishaps and how they can be stopped. Shephard is the author of the YA novel series Pretty Little Liars and The Lying Game. Birds of Prey: The Origins, rated for ages 13+, will go on sale on November 4, 2025, with an MSRP of $16.99.

Teen Titans: Together, by Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo, wraps up the best-selling graphic novel series as all the Teen Titans come together to wrestle with the past and forge a new future.  Garcia and Picolo’s Teen Titans: Ravenwas one of the launch titles for DC’s YA graphic novel program (see “Preview: ‘Teen Titans: Raven’ OGN”), and their 2023 Teen Titans: Robin was the first DC YA graphic novel to make the BookScan Top 20 (see “March 2023 Circana BookScan”).  Teen Titans: Together is rated 13+ and will be released on November 4, 2025, with an MSRP of $16.99.

Nubia: Too Real, by L.L. McKinney, Robyn Smith, and Manou Azumi, is a sequel to 2020’s Nubia: Real One (see “Preview: ‘Nubia: Real One’ GN”), which was nominated for a Harvey Award.  The new book starts with Nubia arriving on Themyscira to train with the Amazons, grappling with impostor syndrome until a new danger threatens the island and forces her to rise to the occasion.  Smyth is the artist for Wash Day Diaries, which won the 2022 LA Times Book Prize for Best Graphic Novel and was nominated for an Eisner Award as well. Nubia: Too Real, rated 13+, will go on sale on September 2, 2025, with an MSRP of $16.99.

Last but not least, DC is collecting four of its supernatural-themed middle-grade titles into DC Spooky Graphic Novels for Kids Box Set, which includes Deadman Tells the Spooky Tales by Franco (of Tiny Titans fame), The Mystery of the Meanest Teacher: A Johnny Costantine Graphic Novel by Ryan North and Derek Charm, We Found a Monster by Kirk Scroggs, and Zatanna and the House of Secrets by Matthew Cody and Yoshi Yoshitani.  The box set, rated for ages 8-12, will be released on July 1, 2025, with an MSRP of $39.99.
