DC Comics reversed its steady market share declines of the past year in Q3 2024, but Marvel Comics ticked up as well, keeping the gap between the two substantially wider than it was at the same time last year.  And Oni Press is back in the top ten for the first time since 2020.

The trend over the past year remains stark.  In Q3 2023, Marvel had a 38.7% share while DC’s was 24.9% (see "Comic Store Market Shares – Q3 2023").  A year later, Marvel’s share has risen to 39.9% while DC’s is 20.1%.

IDW Publishing’s share dropped from Q2 to Q3, going from 7.1% in Q2 to 4.1% in Q3, which is more in line with their share over the past year.

BOOM! Studios and Dark Horse Comics both picked up some share to give both a 3.9% share.

Oni Press and Titan Comics are also both tied with 1.2% each, while Kodansha Comics slips off the chart.  This is the first time Oni has made the top ten since Q4 2020 (see "Q4 2020").
