In spite of the obvious success that comic book-based films have had in Hollywood over the past year, and despite the fact that fellow AOL/Time Warner company DC Comics has an enormous roster of characters, Warner Brothers has been unable to pull the trigger and squeeze off another round in the battle of cinematic superheroes.
Tim Burton To Helm

In a story in Friday's New York Post , entertainment scribe Michael Reidel reported that Tim Burton was set to direct a Broadway musical version of the Batman saga. According to the Post story Burton is eager to reclaim the Batman franchise from the depths to which it sunk under the leaden touch of director Joel Schumacher ( Batman Forever, Batman and Robin ).
