Disney's action/adventure cartoon Atlantis: The Lost Empire opens nationwide in more than 3,000 theaters this weekend. Few film goers will realize that a lot what makes Atlantis look different from previous Disney films is the work of comic artist Mike Mignola.

Dark Horse Comics has announced the acquisition of the license to publish the graphic novel adaptation of the Disney Studio's major animation project for this summer-- Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
