Konami's Yu-GI-Oh! Championship Series Tokyo this past weekend broke the Guinness World Records for the biggest TCG tournament and most entrants in a TCG tournament, with 7,443 participants. Guinness awarded the Guinness World Record certificate to Konami at the event, with participants looking on.
The event was held at the Tokyo Big Sight (International Exhibition Center) over two days on April 28 and 29. The two-day length was a first, held to mark the 10th anniversary of the event. The winner of the event was Yutaro Takahashi.
This new record broke a 2012 record set by a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship held in Long Beach, California, which had 4,364 entrants (see "Guinness Certifies Largest TCG Event").
