DC Entertainment has revealed a new logo that will find its way on to the books published by the company’s major brands, DC Comics, Vertigo, and Mad.  The new design, which was created by Landor Associates, uses “a peel effect” with the “D” placed over the “C” with the upper right hand portion of the “D” peeled away to reveal the “C” underneath, a visual “reveal” that the company’s press release, with a touch of hyperbole, described as “symbolizing the duality of the iconic characters that are present within DC Entertainment’s portfolio.”

Since DC completely remade its entire line with the launching of the “New 52” last September, it is hardly surprising that the company should opt for a new look logo.  Look for the new logo, especially the DC Comics version to appear across the “New 52” comics that will shipping in the month of March.
