Maggie Gyllenhaal has been cast to play Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight, the sequel to Batman Begins, planned for a Summer 2008 release. Gyllenhaal replaces Katie Holmes, who played the role in the first pic. She joins an all star cast, including several from the first film and a couple of new additions (see 'Aaron Eckhart to Play Harvey Dent').
