Relative unknown Ryan Condal has been hired to write a script for Ocean, according to Hollywood Reporter.  Ocean, a Wildstorm miniseries/graphic novel written by Ellis with art by Chris Sprouse and Karl Story, was optioned and set up at Warner Bros. last fall (see “Ocean Gets Optioned”).  

Condal has no script credits on produced films, although a spec script for Galahad, a new take on the Arthurian legend, was sold and may be produced.  But in the long slog from option to production, any forward steps are good ones, so a writer assigned to script can be taken as a positive sign for an eventual film.
