The Syfy Channel is planning to start airing the second half of the initial season of the Battlestar Galactica spin-off Caprica in October rather than in January as originally planned.  The first new Caprica episode will air on October 5th right after a new episode of Stargate Universe.

According to Deadline Hollywood, SyFy has still not placed an order for a second season of Caprica, which stars Eric Stoltz, Paula Malcomson, Esai Morales, and PollyWalker.  Caprica has developed a loyal following, but has had only modest success in the ratings.
