Syrian cartoonist Ali Ferzat, whose hands were broken in a brutal beating, has drawn a new cartoon in response. Since his cartoons mocking Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad were the reason for his beating, which was described as “just a warning” (see “Cartoonist’s Hands Broken”), Ferzat is undoubtedly taking a considerable risk in releasing this cartoon on his Website. But you have to admire his spirit, and sense of humor, and skill to be able to draw with his injuries.
