DC Comics will publish the turn-of-the-century saga Superman: The City of Tomorrow as a paperback compendium. This is the first time that the story of Braniac’s assault on Metropolis, which ran in 1999-2000, has been collected in a single volume; DC did release it as two volumes in 2019 and 2020. The compendium includes Superman #151-159, Adventures of Superman #573-581, Action Comics #760-768, Superman: The Man of Steel #95-103, Superman: Y2K #1, Superman: Metropolis Secret Files #1, and a story from Secret Origins of Super-Villains 80-Page Giant #1, with work by writers Joe Kelly, Jeph Loeb, J.M. DeMatteis, Mark Millar and artists Doug Mahnke and Ed McGuinness, among others. The cover is by McGuinness. The 1,040-page Superman: The City of Tomorrow Compendium will have a trim size of 6 5/8” x 10 3/16” and will be released on July 22, 2025, with an MSRP of $59.99.
DC will release the full Death and Return of Superman story in a similar format in May (see “DC to Publish ‘Death and Return of Superman’ in Compendium Format”).
