Marvel has released two teasers today of the October shipping Fear Itself: The Fearless #1.  The comic, written by Matt Fraction, Cullen Bunn, and Chris Yost, with art by Mark Bagley and Paul Pelletier, and covers by Arthur Adams and Ryan Stegman (variant), describes the conflicts in the wake of the Fear Itself event.  The first teaser, which features art by Mike Deodato, comes with the provocative caption, “Defeat the FF!, Save the World.”

The Asgardian demi-goddess Valkyrie is the focal point of both teasers.  In the first one she slashing away with her sword, surrounded by members of the FF, while in the second teaser Valkyrie is show along with female X-Men characters Storm and Mirage with the caption “Invade Utopia! Save the World.”  It appears that Valkyrie, who was created by Roy Thomas John Buscema in The Avengers #83 in 1970, has been getting something of a build-up recently, notably in Nick Spencer’s Secret Avengers Fear Itself tie-in, and with her status as a denizen of Asgard she certainly makes sense as a major character in the Fear Itself aftermath.
