Although the ambitious plan for three feature films and two bridging TV series based on Stephen King’s The Dark Tower (see “Uni’s Ambitious Plans for ‘Dark Tower’”) is yet to be realized, there’s going to be at least one TV series, and it’s going to be on HBO, according to MTV Movies.  Producer Brian Grazer told MTV that “We’ll do the TV with HBO, and we’ll do the movie with... to be determined.”  

Plans for at least the first movie also appear to be moving ahead after substantial budget cuts (see “Stephen King Movie Update”).  The property has had an extensive literary and comic/graphic novel existence to date, and there are a lot of fans that would like to see this project go forward.
