Archie Comics obtained an injunction against co-CEO (and shareholder) Nancy Silberkleit last week, according to Comic Book Resources, but seemed to get fewer restrictions on her activities than it wanted. The order prohibits Silberkleit from “harassing, yelling at or abusing” people at the corporate headquarters, and from any contact with Archie staff or vendors on any matters not covered by her employment contract. When the suit was filed last summer, Archie sought to keep her away from the office and from representing the company at San Diego Comic-Con (see “Archie Comics files Suit Against Co-CEO”).
When the suit was filed, it was reported that Archie had hired an outside firm to look at allegations of bizarre behavior against Silberkleit, and that the company had recommended that Archie cut ties with Silberkleit. Among the allegations were that she yelled “penis, penis, penis, penis” at a meeting at the company’s offices.
Also Thursday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that appearances by Silberkleit at schools in Elyria, Ohio were cancelled after organizers discovered the suit, although other events were going to proceed as planned.
