It looks like whatever problems were holding up the launch of Legend of Korra, the new Last Airbender series, have been resolved, as the trailer has finally been released and appears to be sticking, after a couple of earlier tries. It was first shown at Comic-Con last July, where the show was also discussed (see "'The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra' Trailer"). Then the trailer was pulled from Websites and everything related to the new series went dark. An opening sequence hit the Web in December (see "'Legend of Korra’ Opening Sequence"), but was also soon pulled.
The series is expected to premiere on Nickelodeon later this year. Top beneficiary in stores will be Dark Horse Comics, which recently released Avatar: The Last Airbender Volume 1: The Promise, a new story that serves as a transitional link between the original series and Legend of Korra (see "Yang Does 'Last Airbender'").
