John McCrea, artist on IDW's Mars Attacks comic series (and on Garth Ennis’ Hitman, see "'Chew' Creator Savors 'Mars Attacks'"), has contributed the art for a subset in the Mars Attacks Heritage trading card set, along with sketch cards for random inserts.  The 15-card subset, "The New Universe Subset," is composed of all-new images offering insight into the comic series through a storyline on the back of each card.  The comics and cards were woven together by a storyline that starts before the Martians invade and continuing into the future. 

McCrea also contributed sketch cards, which will be part of the program that provides one sketch card per hobby box (see "Sketch Cards for Topps' 'Mars Attacks Heritage'").  There will also be autograph cards (see "Autograph Cards in New 'Mars Attacks'").
