WizKids has updated the release schedule for Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix, which it announced back in March (see "'Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix'") with the first of two SKUs, the Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix: 6-Figure Starter Set, releasing on December 18th. The Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix: Series One 24 Ct. Gravity Feed will now follow on February 5th, 2014.
The Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix: 6-Figure Starter Set will feature six figures (Blue Eyes White Dragon, The Dark Magician, Hitotsu-Me Giant, Feral Imp, Des Feral Imp, and Breaker the Magical Warrior) with all-new dial designs, as well as two exclusive maps with iconic series locations and Yu-Gi-Oh! Scenario Rules, a HeroClix core rulebook, a Powers and Abilities card, and tokens. MSRP is set at $24.99 and there are 16 starters per case pack.
The Yu-Gi-Oh! HeroClix: Series One 24 Ct. Gravity Feed will feature 55 figures with the following rarity scheme: 16 Common figures, 15 Uncommon figures, 12 Rare figures, 9 Super-Rare figures, and 3 Chase figures. The blind foil packs carry an MSRP of $2.99.
This brings together the perennial #2 and #3 collectible game brands in the hobby channel (see "Top Collectible Games--Spring 2013"), barely a week before Christmas, so sales should be interesting.
WizKids is also releasing another Yu-Gi-Oh! licensed product within this time frame, the Yu-Gi-Oh! Dice Masters collectible Quarriors!-style game in Q1 of 2014 (see "'Yu-Gi-Oh! Dice Masters' Due in Q1").
