Dynamite Entertainment will release two of its biggest launches in some time, Twilight Zone #1, written by J. Michael Straczynski (see "Dynamite Heads to the 'Twilight Zone'"), and Legenderry #1, written by Bill Willingham (see "'Legenderry' #1 to Sell 40K?"), on December 31st, a week when there are normally few if any releases since Diamond Comic Distributors does not ship that week.
Dynamite CEO Nick Barrucci told us that because of the unusual shipping arrangements around the holiday, the print runs on the books will have to be set on December 2nd, based solely on initial retailer orders. There is a Final Order Cutoff date of December 9th on the titles, but increases placed in that first week of December will have to be filled out of extras; they will not impact the print run.
Barrucci is urging retailers to finalize their expectations a week early on the launches so that there are no surprises that might cause the first issues to be allocated.
