The recently announced X-Men Apocalypse, the next film in the franchise after Days of Future Past, will be set up in the closing moments of DOFP and will focus on the cast from X-Men First Class, according to Vulture. Days of Future Past has a higher-powered (and more expensive) cast; and the younger group of X-Men First Class may signal a more restrained budget for X-Men Apocalypse.
Vulture also confirmed that Bryan Singer would direct the 2016 X-Men film (see "Next 'X-Men' Movie Set"), the first time the same director has directed two X-Men movies in a row since Singer directed X-Men and X2 in 2000 and 2003.
X-Men: Days of Future Past will premiere May 23, 2014; X-Men: Apocalypse will premiere May 27, 2016.
