Funko, makers of the popular Pop! Vinyl figures, has announced the new 6-inch premium Legacy action figure line, and with it, a list of new licenses including Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Star Trek Classic and more.
 
"We... dropped some hints on some pretty cool licenses like Firefly, Universal Monsters, Back to the Future, Goonies, Terminator 1 & 2, Predator, The Rocketeer, Nightmare B4 Christmas, Escape from New York, Pulp Fiction, Buffy the Vampire Slayers(TV), Star Trek Classic and many many more," Funko owner Brian Mariotti said in a forum post.
 
Mariotti went on to add that the figures will be revealed at Toy Fair NYC, and will include two major license announcements, as well as a few cult classics.  "This line (Legacy) will be very much similar in style and accuracy and points of articulation as the Hasbro 6-inch Black Series of Star Wars."
 
In another forum post, Mariotti confirmed the Firefly license will include not only 6" Legacy line figures, but also Pop! Vinyl figures, and 3 ¾" Re-Action figures as well.  The Firefly Re-Action figures are planned for Spring 2014, and the Legacy figures for "late 2014."
 

Funko, partnering with Super7, launched the Re-Action figure line at San Diego Comic-Con this summer.  Their first release for the 3 ¾" line (which has a retro Kenner action figure feel) was models from Alien. 
 
Speculation is high on those two major license announcements for the new Legacy line, but since Mariotti has stated plans to release Game of Thrones Blind Box series figures for 2014, and they’re already included in the Pop! Vinyl line-up, it’s almost a given.  Add Mariotti’s comment in response to a fan asking for hints about the major Legacy line additions, "Look, Winter is Coming... so maybe more hints then!" and you have your answer.
