The CW has ordered an iZombie pilot written and exec produced by Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas and movie co-writer Diane Ruggiero, according to Variety. The zombie-in-the-coroner’s-office show is based on the characters in Chris Roberson and Michael Allred’s Eisner Award nominated Vertigo comic (see "'iZombie' TV Show"), which ended abruptly in August 2012 after Roberson left DC (see "Chris Roberson Leaves DC").
Veronica Mars was canceled as a TV show in 2007, but recently had a hugely successful Kickstarter to fund a feature film, which opens in March, so Thomas and Ruggiero may bring some of their own fan base to iZombie.
The CW also confirmed its pilot order for Flash, which has been casting for some time (see "Geek Movie, TV Round-up").
