Viz Media and Eleven Arts will release Tiger & Bunny the Movie: The Rising theatrically in 20 U.S. cities, including New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, the companies announced. The screenings, all to be in Japanese with English subtitles, will begin March 14. A special screening will also be held March 22 at New People Cinema in San Francisco.
The Rising is the second Tiger & Bunny feature; Viz released the first on DVD and Blu-ray in October, along with the manga adaptation (see "'Tiger & Bunny' Paired Releases"). No word on when the video and manga for The Rising will be released.
But there are plenty of other products featuring the property beyond the video and anime for the first feature, including the three (soon to be four) volumes of the manga series (see "A Look Ahead at Viz Releases"), and an anthology of short stories based on the property (see "Review: 'Tiger & Bunny Comic Anthology'").
