Scholastic Books is planning to release two new graphic novels on August 26, Kazu Kibuishi’s Amulet #6: Escape from Lucien and Raina Telgemeier’s Sisters, a companion volume to her Eisner Award-winning graphic memoir Smile.  In Sisters (208 pages, cover price $10.99) Telgemeier employs humor and considerable charm in a narrative that switches from the present day effortlessly back to the past and lays bare both the rivalries and love between herself and her younger sister.
 
Amulet #6: Escape from Lucien (256 pages, $12.99) is the sixth volume in Kazu Kibuishi’s New York Times bestselling fantasy graphic novel franchise.  In this latest installment Emily, Navin and their friends continue to battle the Elf King, but they find more than they bargained for when they reach the war-torn city of Lucien.
