Hasbro is celebrating the Transformers 20th anniversary by launching the Transformers Energon line in early 2004.  Hasbro is planning an integrated marketing plan for the new line of mutateable machines, including a new action figure line, 26 new cartoon episodes slated to air on Cartoon Network in early 2004, and a new comic series from Dreamwave that will launch around the same time.  The Dreamwave Transformers series have consistently been at the top of the charts (see 'Top 30 Comics--April 2003'), and this will likely be no exception.

Also on Hasbro's horizon is the first new G.I. Joe movie in over a decade, entitled Spy Troops:  The Movie.  Following its premiere on Cartoon Network, Spy Troops will be released on DVD this fall, and will be sold exclusively in a special 2-pack of 12-inch figures called 'Ninja Showdown' beginning in October.
