ADV has announced that the Anime Network has acquired a two-year exclusive licensing agreement for US television rights for all 24 episodes of Geneon's (formerly Pioneer Animation) popular anime series Chobits.  The Chobits anime series is based on the very popular series of graphic novels by Clamp, published in the US by Tokyopop.  Produced in Japan by Madhouse (Trigun, Ninja Scroll), the Chobits anime has been one of Geneon's top US releases.

The Anime Network, which is owned by ADV, has been seeking anime releases from other companies in order to broaden its range of offerings.  The Network has already secured titles from the Right Stuf, which ADV distributes, but the acquisition of Chobits provides the Anime Network with a popular series that has no other connection to ADV.
