According to The Hollywood Reporter, Touchstone Pictures has optioned Unique, a forthcoming graphic novel from Platinum Studios.  David Heyman, a producer on the Harry Potter films, will produce the project through his Heyday Films company with David Goyer, who wrote the 3 Blade films as well as the script for the new Batman: Intimidation film, directing.  Goyer, who also writes DC's JSA, is currently directing the third Blade film, Blade: Trinity, for New Line.

Platinum plans on publishing the Unique graphic novel next year.  Written by Dean Motter (Mr. X, Terminal City, Batman: Nine Lives), Unique features art by the Italian artist Stefano Cardoselli (Heavy Metal).  Jon Geoffries, the protagonist of Unique, discovers that there are actually two nearly identical parallel worlds in separate dimensions, and that the only people who can slip between the two worlds are 'uniques,' who don't have a doppelganger in the second world.
