Bandai America has unveiled an extensive line of toys based on the new anime series D.I.C.E. (DNA Integrated Cybernetic Enterprises--from sister company Bandai Entertainment), which will premiere on the Cartoon Network in January. Bandai America is releasing a full toy line based on the property, which is targeted at boys 6-11 (see 'D.I.C.E to Launch on Cartoon Network'), and the toys will be available when the anime series premiers in January, not six-to eight months later as is often the case. Bandai also plans to release a D.I.C.E. videogame in September 2005.
The anime series, which reportedly has 40 episodes in production or already completed, includes such kid-friendly features as futuristic armor (Gildsuits), high-tech transforming dinosaur-like vehicles, and a mysterious 'Phantom Knight.' Bandai's toy line centers on the main characters in the saga, D.I.C.E. F-99, a group of highly trained kids who have to keep order in the Sarbylion galaxy.
The launch of the property, which is wholly owned by Bandai, will be supported with print and TV advertising, major promotion with the Cartoon Network, and a promotional trailer that will be shown in theaters showing features appealing to the same demographic.
