Tower Records & Video founder Russ Solomon will not bid for the bankrupt chain in its bankruptcy auction, according to Home Media Retailing.  Radius Equity, which would keep the majority of the chain's stores open, has reportedly emerged as a second bidder, joining liquidator Great American Group (see 'Tower Gets Lead Bidder'), and perhaps others on the quick track to getting a new owner in place in time to make something out of the holiday season.    

The chain will be auctioned this Thursday, October 5th.
