Scarlett Pavlovich, a former nanny to the child of Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer, has sued the pair in U.S. Federal Court alleging trafficking, assault, and other offenses.   In nine causes of action, the suit alleges that the pair trafficked her and coerced her to perform sexual services and unpaid labor; that Gaiman assaulted and battered her, and caused intentional emotional distress; and that Palmer was negligent in not informing her of the risks Gaiman represented.

The lawsuit is just the latest in a cascade of recent bad news surrounding Gaiman, including his removal from the Good Omens graphic novel (see "Gaiman No Longer Affiliated"), Dark Horse Comics ending its relationship with him (see "Dark Horse Ending Relationship"), and Netflix ending the Sandman series (see "’The Sandman’ Ending").

The most recent round of project cancellations followed the publication of an in-depth article by Vulture alleging sexual assault and other misconduct, which Gaiman denied (see "Gaiman Denies").  Pavlovich detailed allegations included in the lawsuit both to Vulture and to a Tortoiose Media podcast last summer, which kicked off the furor surrounding Gaiman and his works.
